Spring Dress Bodice
Starting at bottom edge of bodice with light green and size H hook (or
size required for gauge), ch 30.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Sc in second ch from hook and each rem ch across (29
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in first sc, * dec over next 2 sc (to dec: draw up a lp in
next 2 sc - 3 Ips now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 Ips on hook),
sc in next 2 sc; rep from across (22 Sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in each sc across (22 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4 (Waist): Working in back lp of sts for this row only (front lps
will be used for overskirt), sc in first sc, * dec over next 2 sc, sc in
next 2 Sc; rep from * across to last sc, sc in last sc (17 sc). Ch
1,turn.
ROW 5: Sc in each sc across (17 sc). Ch 1, turn. (Note: Remainder of

Left Back, Armhole and Shoulder
ROW 6: Sc in first 3 sc, sk rem sts (will be continued later) (3 sc). Ch
1, turn.
ROW 7: Sc in each sc across (3 sc). With contrasting yarn or safety pin,
mark side of last sc for start of neck edging. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 8: Sc in first sc, dec over last 2 sc (2 sc). Ch 1 turn.

ROW 10 (Shoulder Edge): Dec over 2 sc (1 sc). Finish off, do not turn.
Bodice Front
With right side still facing you, sk first 2 unworked sc from Bodice Row
5 (next to section just completed - for underarm), rejoin green with sI
st to next unworked sc, ch 1.
ROW 6 (continued): Sc in same sc as joining and next 6 unworked sc, sk
rem sts (will be continued later) (7 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 7: Sc in each sc across (7 Sc). Ch 1, turn.

Left Front Armhole, Neck Edge and Shoulder
ROW 8: Sc in first 3 sc, sk rem sts in this row (for front neck edge -
will be continued later) (3 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: Dec over first 2 sc, SC in next sc (2 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 10 (Shoulder Edge): Dec over 2 sc (1 sc). Turn. Holding right sides
of armhole edges of 2 completed sections tog, sI st front shoulder edge
to back shoulder edge. Finish off.
Right Front Armhole, Neck Edge and Shoulder
With right side facing you, sk first unworked sc from Left Front
Armhole, Neck Edge and Shoulder Row 8, rejoin green to next unworked sc,
ch 1.
ROW 8 (continued): Sc in same sc as joining and next 2 unworked sc (3
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: Sc in first sc, dec over next 2 sc (2 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 10 (Shoulder Edge): Dec over 2 sc (1 sc). Finish off, do not turn.
Right Back, Armhole and Shoulder
With right side still facing you, sk next 2 unworked sc from Bodice Row
5 (for underarm), rejoin green to next unworked sc, ch 1.

Spring Skirt
Special Sts used in Skirt:
9-dc Shell- Work 9 dc in one st
Reverse Shell- (Yo, draw up a lp in next st, yo and draw through 2 lps)
9 times (10 lps now on hook), yo and draw through all 10 lps on hook, ch
1 (to close and form eye of reverse shell)
With right side and neck edge of bodice facing you, rejoin green to
first ch at right bottom edge of bodice piece, ch 1.
ROW 1: Work 2 sc in same ch as joining, * 3 sc in next ch, 2 SC in next
ch; rep from * across (72 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (72 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in first 2 sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from *
across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join with sI st to first sc (to
close back opening) (96 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.

RND 4: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc across, join to first sc
(96 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 5: Sc in same sc as joining, * sk next 2 sc, 9-dc shell in next sc,

sc, 9-dc shell in next sc, sk last 2 sc, join to first sc (sixteen 9-dc
shells). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 6: SI st in first 5 dc, cut green, join ombré, ch 1. Sc in same dc
as last sI st (mark this sc for beg of rnd), ch 3, work reverse shell in
next 9 sts, ch 3, * sc in next dc (center dc of 9-dc shell from previous
rnd), ch 3, reverse shell in next 9 sts, ch 3; rep from * around. (Last

RND 14 (Skirt Bottom Edging): Dc in same sc as joining, 2 dc in each rem
st around, join to top of beg ch-3 (319 dc - not counting beg ch-3).
Finish off, weave in ends.
Spring Sleeves (make 2)
With right side and bottom of skirt facing you, join green to first
unworked sc at underarm from Bodice Row 6, ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same sc as joining and next sc. Working around armhole, sc
in next 3 sc row ends, 3 hdc in next row end, 2 dc in next 2 row ends, 3
hdc in next row end, sc in last 3 row ends, join to first sc (18 sts).
Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Dec over same sc as joining and next sc, * dec over next 2 sts;
rep from * around, join to first sc (9 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join to first sc
(9 sc). Finish off, weave in ends.
Spring Overskirt
With neck edge of bodice facing you, join green to first unworked Ip at
waist from Bodice Row 4 at right back edge, ch 1.
ROW 1 (right side): Work sc in same Ip as joining, * 2 sc in next Ip, sc
in next lp; rep from * across to last lp, sc in last Ip (32 sc). Ch 1,
turn.
ROW 2: Work 2 sc in each sc across (64 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in first sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from *
across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc (96 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in each sc across (96 sc). Ch 2, turn.
ROW 5: Hdc in each sc across, join to top of beg ch-2 (to close back
opening) (96 hdc). Ch 3, do not turn.
(Note: You will now be working in rnds instead of rows.)
RND 6: Dc in each hdc across, join to top of beg ch-3 (96 dc). Oh 1, do
not turn.
RND 7: Sc in same ch as joining, * sk next 3 dc, 12 trc in next dc, sk
next 3 dc, sc in next dc; rep from * around, join to first sc (twelve
12-trc shells). Finish off, weave in ends.
Spring Dress Finishing
STEP 1 (Sleeve Edging): Thread a yarn needle with a 20” piece of ombré
yarn. Beg at underarm, working over last sc row of sleeve (placing yarn
needle into sts of Row 2). Work 3 side-by-side overcast sts in each sc.
Finish off, weave in ends on wrong side. Rep for other sleeve.
STEP 2 (Neck Edging): Thread a yarn needle with a 30” piece of ombré
yarn. Beg at marked row end at left back opening and using side-by-side
overcast sts, work 3 sts in each row end across left neck edge to center
front, 3 sts in sc at center front, 3 sts in each row end across right
neck edge ending with 3 sts in marked row end at right back opening.
Finish off; weave in ends on wrong side.
STEP 3: Sew 2 sets hooks and eyes to back opening: one set just below
neck edging and one set at waist.
STEP 4: Cut stems off 13 pink ribbon roses. Hot glue 1 rose to eye of
each 12 dc-shell around Overskirt Rnd 7. Hot glue rem rose to center
front waist. Place dress on doll.
Spring Hat
Cut stems off 8 pink ribbon roses. Hot glue roses around top of brim
close to crown. (Do not glue flowers over ribbon.) Place hat on doll’s
head with ribbon bows to the back.Spring Bouquet
Twist stems of rem 3 roses tog. Set aside. Cut a 12” piece of
1/8” pink satin ribbon. Fold ribbon in half and tie folded ribbon around
stems close to flowers so that fold forms a Ip above flower bouquet.
Place a drop of glue to ribbon and flowers to hold in place. Twist
flower stems around doll’s wrist. Trim wire ends. Let ribbon ends hang
down, trim ends on an angle.
Summer Dress
Summer Bodice
Starting at bottom edge of bodice with light pink and size H hook (or
size required for gauge), ch 30. Continuing with pink throughout (in
place of green) rep Spring Dress Bodice Row 1 to the end of Right Back,
Armhole and Shoulder Row 10.
Summer Skirt
Reverse Shell — (Yo, draw up a Ip in next st, yo and draw through 2 Ips)
9 times (10 lps now on hook), yo and draw through all 10 Ips on hook, ch
1 (to close and form eye of reverse shell)
With right side and neck edge of bodice facing you, join pink variegated
yarn to first ch at right bottom edge of bodice piece, ch 1.
ROW 1- RND 5: Rep Row 1-Rnd 5 of Spring Skirt.
RND 6: SI St in first 5 dc, ch 1. Sc in same dc as last sI st (mark this
sc for beg of rd), ch 3, work reverse shell in next 9 sts, ch 3, * sc in
next dc (center dc of 9-dc shell from previous rnd), ch 3, reverse shell
in next 9 sts, ch 3; rep from * around. (Last reverse shell will be
worked in last 4 dc and joining sI st from previous rnd and first 4 sI
sts from beg of this rnd.) Join to first (marked) sc (16 reverse
shells). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 7: Sc in same sc as joining, work a 9-dc shell in eye of next
reverse shell, * sc in next sc, 9-dc shell in eye of next reverse shell;
rep from * around, join to first sc (sixteen 9-dc shells). Do not ch, do
not turn.
RNDS 8-11: Rep Rnds 6-7 two times more. At end of Rnd 11, cut
variegated, join light pink. Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 12 (Skirt Bottom Edging): Work 8 dc in same sc as joining, sk next 4
dc, sc in next dc (center dc of 9-dc shell), * sk next 4 dc, 9-dc shell
in next sc, sk next 4 dc, sc in next dc; rep from * around to last 4 dc,
sk last 4 dc, join to top of beg ch-3 (16 shells). Finish off, weave in
ends.
Summer Sleeves (make 2)
With right side and bottom of skirt facing you, join variegated yarn to
first unworked sc at underarm from Bodice Row 6, ch 1.
RND 1: Dec over same sc as joining and next sc, work 10 sc, evenly
spaced, in sc row ends around armhole, join to first sc (11 sc). Ch 1,
do not turn.
RND 2: SI St in same sc as joining and next sc, sc in next sc, hdc in
next 2 sc, 2 dc in next sc, hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, sl st in
next 2 sc, join to beg sl st (12 sts). Finish off, weave in ends.Summer
Neck Edge
With right side and back of bodice facing you, join variegated yarn to
marked row end at left back opening, ch 1. Sc in next row end, spacing
sts evenly work 16 more sc around neck edge ending with sc in row end
before marked row end at right back opening, sl st in marked row end (17
sc). Finish off, weave in ends.
Summer Overskirt
With bottom of skirt facing you, join light pink to first unworked Ip at
waist from Bodice Row 4 at left back edge, ch 1.
ROWS 1-3: Rep Rows 1-3 of Spring Overskirt. At end of Row 3, ch 3 (in
place of ch 1), turn.
ROW 4: Sk first 2 sc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sc, * sk next 4 sc, (2
dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sc; rep from * across to last 3 sc, sk in next 2
sc, dc in last sc, join to top of beg ch-3 (to close back opening) (19
ch-1 sps). Ch 3, do not turn.
(Note: You will now be working in rnds instead of rows.)
RND 5: Work (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same ch as joining, sk next 2 dc, * (2
dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 sp, sk next 4 dc; rep from * around to last
ch-1 sp, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in last ch-1 sp, sk last 3 dc, join to top
of beg ch-3 (20 ch-1 Sps). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 6: SI St in first dc and first ch-1 sp, ch 3. Work (2 dc, ch 1,3 dc)
in same ch-1 sp, * sk next 4 dc, (3 dc, ch 1,3 dc) in next ch-1 sp; rep
from * around to last 2 dc, sk last 2 dc, join to top of beg ch-3 (20
ch-1 sps). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 7: SI st in first 2 dc and next ch-1 sp, ch 3. Work 7 dc in same
ch-1 sp, * sk next 6 dc, 8 dc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * around to last
3 dc, sk last 3 dc and beg sI sts. Join to top of beg ch-3. Ch 1, do not
turn.
RND 8 (Overskirt Edging): Sc in same ch as joining (mark this sc for beg
of rnd), * sc in next dc, sk next 4 dc, sc in next dc (push skipped sts
to right side), dec over next 2 dc, sc in next 6 dc, dec over next 2 dc;
rep from * around to last 15 dc, sc in next dc, sk next 4 dc, sc in next
dc, dec over next 2 dc, sc in next 6 dc, dec over last dc and first
(marked) sc from previous rnd. Remove marker. Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 9: SI st in same sc as last dec worked (mark this sI st for beg of
rnd), picot in each of next 2 sc (to work picot: sI st in next sc, ch 4,
sI st in 4th ch from hook), * sI st in next 8 sc, picot in each of next
2 sc * ; rep from * to * three times more, sI st in next 8 sc, picot in
next sc, sI st in same sc, ch 6, sI st in 6th ch from hook, picot in
next sc; rep from * to * four times, sl st in next 8 sc, join to marked
sI st (remove marker). Finish off, weave in ends.
Summer Dress Finishing
STEP 1 (Dress): Sew 2 sets hooks and eyes to back dress opening: one set
just below neck edging and one set at waist.
STEP 2: Separate bunches of flowers. Push stems of 1 flower bunch in sp
of 4 skipped dc (just above picot) from Overskirt Rnd 8. Glue flowers in
place. Rep around overskirt. Trim stem wire ends close on wrong side and
cover wire ends with glue. Place dress on doll.
STEP 3: Cut a 12” piece of 1/4” bright yellow ribbon. Tie around doll’s
waist with bow in front. Trim ribbon ends on an angle. Push stems of 1
flower bunch through bodice at front center waist just above ribbon.
Glue flowers in place. Trim stem wire ends close on wrong side and cover
ends with glue.
STEP 4 (Hair): Cut stems off 4 bunches of flowers. Glue flowers from 2
bunches around top of one hair ribbon. Rep on other hair ribbon.
