9 sc = 2 in. (5 cm), 9 rows/rnds = 2 in.
8 dc = 2 in., 4 rows/rnds = 2 in.

SPECIAL STITCH: js (jump stitch): Draw up a lp in next st of previous
row, below the row you are working - 2 lps now on hook, yo and draw

will create the zigzag pattern on dress.

Starting at neck edge and size G hook (or size required for gauge) ch

ROW 2: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (40 sc).

ROW 4: * Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (50 sc).
Turn.
ROW 5: (Armhole shaping): Sc first 6 sc, ch 3, sk next 11 sc (for right
armhole - fold skipped sts toward you), sc in next 16 sc, ch 3, sk next
11 sc (for left armhole - fold skipped sts toward you), sc in last 6 sc
(28 sc). Turn.
ROW 6: Sc in each sc and ch across (34 sc). Turn.
ROW 7: Sc in first 8 sc, *dec over next 2 sc (to dec: draw up a lp in
next 2 sts - 3 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook);

RND 31: Working in back lp of sts only, dc in same sc as joining, * 2 dc
in next st, dc in next st; rep from * around to last sc, 2 dc in last
sc, join to top of beg ch-3 (240 dc - not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do
not turn.
RNDS 32-33: Dc in each dc around, join (240 dc). Ch 3, do not turn. *At
end of Rnd 33, ch 1 (in place of ch 3), do not turn*
RNDS 34-39: Rep Rnds 16-21 (240 sts). *At end of Rnd 39 do not ch.
Finish off, weave in all ends.
SKIRT TRIM: With needle and thread, sew one pearl to the top of each js
(jump stitch) around skirt.

NECK TRIM
With right side of bodice facing you, join with sl st to first ch at
left back neck edge, do not ch. Sk joining ch, sl st in each rem ch
across neck edge (30 sl sts). Finish off, weave in all ends. With needle
and thread, sew a row of pearls along neck edge.
ARMHOLE TRIM: (make 2)
With right side and skirt bottom facing you, join to 2nd ch (center) at
underarm, ch 1. Sc in same ch as joining and next ch, sc in 11 unworked
sc from Bodice Row 5 around top of armhole, sc in last ch at underarm,
join to first sc (14 sc). Finish off, weave in all ends.
Sew a row of pearls along sleeve edge.
PANTIES w/ATTACHED SLIP
PANTIES
Starting at waist edge and size G hook ch 25.
ROW 1: (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (24
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (36 sc). Ch
1, turn.
ROWS 3-4: Sc in each sc across (36 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: Sc in each sc across, join with sl st to first sc (to close back
opening) (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
(Note: You will now be working in rnds instead of rows.)
RND 6: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps will be
used for attached slip), sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc
around, join (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 7-8: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (36 sc).
Ch 1, do not turn. * At end of rnd 8, ch 4 (in place of ch 1 - for
crotch), do not turn.
LEFT LEG
Rnd 9: Sk same sc as joining and next 17 sc, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in next
sc, sc in next 17 sc, sc in 4 chs across crotch, join to back lp only of
first sc (22 sc). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 10: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps rem
unworked), sk joining sc, sl st in each rem sc around, join to first sl
st. Finish off, weave in ends.
RIGHT LEG
With right side and back waist edge of panties facing you, rejoin yarn
to first unworked sc from Left Leg Rnd 9 (next to Left Leg), ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same sc as joining and next 17 sc, sc in 4 chs across
crotch, join to back lp only of first sc (22 sc). Do not ch, do not
turn.
RND 2: Rep Left Leg Rnd 10.
SLIP
With back waist edge of panties facing you, rejoin yarn to first
unworked lp from panties Rnd 6 at back seam, (this was where you worked
in back lp only) ch 3.
RND 1: Dc in same lp as joining, * 2 dc in next lp, dc in next lp; rep
from * around to last lp, 2 dc in last lp, join to top of beg ch-3 (54
dc - not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 2-3: Dc in each dc around, join (54 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.

in each ch across panties waist edge, ch 25 (for other tie). Finish off,
weave in ends. Place panties with attached slip on doll under dress and
tie at center back waist.
