Legs with Attached Pantaloons (make 2)
Legs: Starting at toe end with white, ch 2.
RND 1 (right side): Work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to first sc (3 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (6 sc). Ch 1, do not turn. Push toe end to right side.
RNDS 3-4: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (6 sc). Ch 1, do not turn. At end of Rnd 4, with eraser end of pencil, push beg yarn length down into toe.
RND 5: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining, sc in each rem sc around, join (7 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 6-13: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (7 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 14: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (14 sc). Finish off leaving a 15" (38cm) end for sewing leg to slip.

Attached Pantaloons: With top (open end) of leg facing you, rejoin white to outside (back) lp only of first sc from Leg Rnd 13, ch 4.
RND 1: Working in outside lp of sts for this rnd only (inside lps will be used for sewing leg to leghole), trc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around (keeping 15" [38cm] end on inside), join to top of beg ch-4 (14 trc Ð not counting beg ch-4). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: (Sc, ch 3) in each trc around, join to first sc (14 ch-3 sps). Finish off, weave in pantaloon ends only. Fold pantaloons down over leg.

Legs Finishing
STEP 1: Cut one 6mm x 12" (30.5cm) white chenille stem in half. Fold each piece in half,
pressing fold tight. Insert folded end inside leg and push down to toe end. Fold over excess top of chenille stem even with top of leg and stuff into leg. Rep for other leg.
STEP 2: Hold front neck edge of dress facing you. Using 15" (38cm) length of yarn at top of leg and tapestry needle, starting at 2nd skipped dc at back of leghole (from Slip Rnd 6), sew leg to leghole using front lps only of skipped dc at back of leg (back lps will be used for dirt) and working under slip ruffle at front of leg. Pass needle through top of slip ruffle. Sew top leg opening closed on top of ruffle, easing fullness of ruffle at leg front to leg back. Secure yarn end. Rep for other leg. Bend first 5 leg rows forward for foot.

Dress Finishing
Sew 2 sets hooks and eyes to bodice back opening: one set at neck just below collar and one set at waist. Set dress aside.

Shoes (make 2)
Starting at center of sole with brown, ch 8.
RND 1 (right side): Work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 chs, 3 sc in last ch. Working around opposite side of starting ch, sc in next 5 chs, join to first sc (16 sc). Cut brown, join light yellow. Continuing with yellow, ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps rem unworked for edge of sole), sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (16 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Sc in same sc as joining and next 7 sc (dec over next 2 sc) twice (for toe end), sc in last 4 sc, do not join, ch or turn (14 sc).
RND 4: Working in back lp of sts only (front lps rem unworked), sl st in each sc around, join to first sl st (14 sl sts). Finish off, weave in ends. Hot glue one shoe onto each foot. Shape foot and shoe.

Attached Dirt Lining
Fold slip ruffle and legs back over slip exposing unworked lps from Slip Rnd 6. With back neck edge of dress facing you, join brown to first unworked lp from Slip Rnd 6, ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same lp as joining and next 11 lps, sc in next 4 lps across back of leg (from Leg Finishing Step 2), sc in next 8 lps, sc in next 4 lps across back of leg, sc in last 12 lps, join to first sc (40 sc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 2: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps will be used for Grass/Dirt Mound), hdc in same sc as joining and next 2 sc, * 2 hdc in next sc, hdc in next 3 sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 hdc in last sc, join to top of beg ch-2 (50 hdc Ð not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn.
RNDS 3-8: Hdc in each hdc around, join (50 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 9: * Hdc in next 8 hdc, dec over next 2 hdc (to dec: yo, draw up a lp in next 2 sts Ð 4 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 4 lps); rep from * around, join (45 hdc Ð not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn.

RND 1: Hdc in same lp as joining and next 2 lps, * 2 hdc in next lp, hdc in next 3 lps; rep from * around to last lp, 2 hdc in last lp, join to top of beg ch-2 (50 hdc Ð not counting beg ch-2).
Ch 2, do not turn.
RNDS 2-3: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps will be used for grass strands), hdc in each hdc around, join (50 hdc). Cut green, join brown. Continuing with brown, ch 2, do not turn.

Dirt
RNDS 4-7: Hdc in each hdc around, join (50 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RNDS 8-10: Rep Dirt Lining Rnds 9-11.
RND 11: Working in Dirt Lining Rnd 11 and Grass/Dirt Mound Rnd 10 tog, matching sts, hdc in each hdc around, join (40 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 12: Hdc in each hdc around, join (40 hdc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 13: Hold 1 large cloth-covered rubber band on sts from Rnd 12. Working over rubber band, sc in each hdc around, join to first sc (40 sc). Finish off, weave in ends.

Grass/Dirt Mound Finishing
Cut one hundred 4" (10cm) pieces of dark green yarn. With bottom of base facing you, latch hook (Figure 1) 1 piece of yarn to each unworked lp around Grass/Dirt Mound Rnds 3-4. Trim all ends to 1". Place dress on doll and close back hooks. Insert cone-shaped air freshener into bottom of dirt mound. Set doll aside.
Apron
(Note: For smoother side edges, do not ch 1 at end of each row.) Starting at waist edge with white, ch 11.
ROW 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (10 sc). Turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (10 sc). Turn.
ROW 3: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (15 sc). Turn.
ROWS 4-8: Sc in each sc across (15 sc). Turn. At end of Row 8, finish off, weave in ends.

Apron Finishing
STEP 1: Cut a 20" (50cm) piece of 1/4" (6.3mm) light blue satin ribbon. With right side of apron facing you, using tapestry needle, weave ribbon through sts at waist. Pull ends even. Do not tie.
STEP 2: Cut a 7" (18cm) piece of 1" (2.5cm) white gathered lace. Turning ends of lace under about 1/8" (3mm), beginning and ending 1 row below waist, sew (or hot glue) gathered edge of lace around top edge of 2 sides and bottom of apron, easing in fullness.
STEP 3: Place apron around dollÕs waist and tie into a 2" (5cm) bow in back. Let ends hang down back of skirt. Trim ribbon ends on an angle.

Hair Finishing
Remove existing ribbons from 2 ponytails. Cut two 10" (25cm) pieces of 1/4" (6.3mm) light blue satin ribbon. Tie each piece into a 2" (5cm) bow around each ponytail. Trim ends on an angle even with bow. Set doll aside.

Spider
Cut 4" (10cm) from a 6mm x 12" (30cm) brown chenille stem. Roll up into a 1/2" (13mm) ball (for body of spider). Cut remaining 8" (20cm) of stem into three 21/2" (6.3cm) pieces, discarding rem 1/2". Lay 3 pieces side by side and hot glue body over center. Separate 3 pieces and shape into spider legs (see Figure 2). Hot glue two 5mm wiggle eyes to front of spider body. Hot glue bottom of spider to left bottom corner of dollÕs apron. Set aside.

"Curds and Whey" Bowl and Spoon
Bowl
Starting at center of bowl with medium blue, ch 3.
RND 1 (Inside): Work 10 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, join to top of beg ch-2 (10 hdc Ð not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 2: * Hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (15 hdc Ð not counting beg ch-2). Finish off, weave in ends. With joining seam toward the back, hot glue bottom of bowl to right corner of apron. Set aside.

Spoon
Starting at top of handle with medium blue, ch 9. Work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in rem
7 chs. Finish off, weave in ends. Hot glue spoon in bowl with handle leaning on dollÕs right hand. Shape spoon handle.

Grass Bottom
Starting at center of grass bottom with dark green, ch 2.
RND 1 (right side): Work 12 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to first sc (12 sc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 dc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join to top of beg ch-3 (24 dc Ð not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 3: * Dc in next dc, 2 dc in in next dc; rep from * around, join (36 dc Ð not counting beg
ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 4: * Dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join (48 dc Ð not counting beg
ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 5: Working in back lp of sts only (front lps will be used for grass), * dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join (60 dc Ð not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 6: Working in back lp of sts only (front lps will be used for grass strands), dc in first 2 dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc; rep from * around to last 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last 2 dc, join (70 dc Ð not counting beg ch-3). Finish off, trim end to 1" (2.5cm). Weave in beg yarn length.

Grass Bottom Finishing
STEP 1: Cut one hundred seventy-eight 4" (10cm) pieces of dark green yarn. Working from outer edge to center, latch hook 1 piece of yarn to each lp from Grass Bottom Rnds 5 and 6 and to both lps of each st around outside edge. Trim all ends to 1" (2.5cm). Shake piece to fluff grass.
STEP 2: Cut stem off 6 assorted pink and blue spring flowers. Hot glue flowers as shown in Figure 3 among the grass strands of Grass Bottom Rnds 5-6.
STEP 3: Stand air freshener doll in center of grass bottom, placing grass bottom flowers in front.
