Starting at bottom edge of vest back with ecru crochet cotton and size 2 steel crochet hook (or size).

CHIEF'S LEGGINGS
With cream, starting at waist edge, ch 28.
ROW 1: Sc in 2nd and every following ch (27 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 2-4: Sc in each sc across (27 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: Sc in first 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 6 sc (29 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 6: Sc in each sc across (29 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 7: (Sc dec over next 2 sts) 2x. This creates an overlap for a neat waist closing. Sc in each following sc around ending sl st to top of first sc (27 sc) . Ch 1, turn.
RND 8: Sc in first 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 6 sc Sl st in beg ch 1. (29 sc).
RNDS 9-11: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st to top of first sc (29 sc).
To divide for legs ch 4, miss 13 sc, sl st in next sc. Ch 1, turn.

LEGS
RND 1: Sc in 4 ch, sc in next 15 sc, join with sl st to top of first sc (19 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 2: Sc in first sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 16 sc, join with sl st to top of first sc (18 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 3-4: Sc in each sc around, join with sl st to top of first sc (18 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RND 5: Sc in first sc, dec-sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 15 sc, join with sl st to top of first sc (17 sc). Ch 1, turn.
RNDS 6-7: Sc in each sc around, join with sl st to top of first sc (17 sc). Ch 1, turn.

FINISHING
With wrong side facing and turquoise yarn attach thread to last st worked of leg inseam. Ch 1, crab st in 7 sts, ch 3, post sc in st 3 rows above current st, ch 3, crab st in rem 7 sts of current row. Repeat for other leg. Sew snap or hook and eye fasteners to the back closure, matching area on leggings.

CHIEF'S SHIRT
YOKE FRONT
Starting with center panel using cream, make foundation ch of 7.
ROW 1: Sc in second ch from hook, and following 5 sc (6 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROWS 2-23: Ch 1, sc in each sc across (6 sc). Fasten off off-white. Turn work sidewise.
ROW 1: Working along ends of rows join turquoise in corner, ch 1, work 23 sc evenly across. Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 2: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc. Turn. Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 3: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 2, sc in turquoise sc below it, sc in next coral sc from Row 2, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc. Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 4: With cream join in first sc, ch 6, sc in each sc across (17 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 5-17: Ch 1, sc in each sc across (6 sc). Turn. Fasten off cream.
Turn work and complete other side of Yoke Front by repeating Rows 1-17. Fasten off and work in ends of yarn with tapestry needle.

LEFT SHOULDER AND BACK YOKE
Turn work sidewise.
ROW 1: Working along ends of rows join turquoise in corner, ch 1, work 17 sc evenly across ending across top of vertical stripe. Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 2: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc. Turn. Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 3: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 2, sc in turquoise sc below it, sc in next coral sc from Row 2, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (17 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 4: Attach cream to 1st st at neckline, 1st st of row 3. Ch 6, sc in each sc across (17 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: Sc in each sc across (23 sc). Turn.
ROWS 6-10: Ch 1, sc in each sc across (23 sc). Turn. Fasten off white after row 10.

RIGHT SHOULDER AND BACK YOKE
ROW 1: Join turquoise in end of next turquoise row, ch 1, work 17 sc evenly across. Turn.
ROWS 2-3: Work as for Left Shoulder.
ROW 4: With cream join in first sc, ch 1, sc in each sc across, ch 7 (17 sc). Turn.
ROW 5: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and following 5 ch, sc in each sc across (23 sc). Turn.
ROWS 6-10: Ch 1, sc in each sc across (23 sc). Turn. Fasten off cream after row 10. Sew Sleeve seams from underarm out with right side facing. (14 sts)

BACK OF SHIRT
Join cream yarn to side of cream st before vertical stripe begins.
ROW 1: Sc in same st and in each cream st across. Turn.
ROWS 2-17: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, (9 sc). Turn.
Fasten off cream after row 17. Repeat on other side.

FINISHING
Sew side seams, leaving bottom 6 sts unworked.
With turquoise, sc around bottom edge of shirt - up an down side openings, across front, etc. - fasten off.
With turquoise sc around bottom edge of ea sleeve.
Add sleeve fringe - with coral cut thirty-four 4 in. lengths of coral yarn. With RS facing attach 1 piece of fringe to ea back turquoise sc on sleeve.
Add front tunic hem fringe - with coral cut twelve 4 in. lengths of coral yarn. With right side facing embroider 3 "X"'s down front of tunic. Cut one 6 in. length coral yarn and insert across base of "X" on tunic. With black thread, sew 1 black giant seed bead and 1 silver sequin on top of coral yarn, 2 rows below bottom "X".
With black thread, sew 1 black giant seed bead at the apex of each "X" on tunic front, and at the apex of each turquoise "V" stitch down left and right side of tunic front.

CHIEF'S HEADBAND
Using turquoise, make foundation ch of 32, join with sl st in first ch to make ring.
ROW 1: Ch 1, sc in first ch, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * around, join with sl st to first sc (16 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 2: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 1, sc in skipped ch below it, sc in next sc from Row 1, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc, join to first sc. Fasten off coral. Work in all loose ends with tapestry needle.

PRINCESS' DRESS
YOKE FRONT
Starting at bottom of sleeve yoke using coral, make foundation ch of 32.
ROW 1: Sc in second ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across (16 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 2: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc * working over ch 1 from first row, sc into skipped ch of foundation ch, ch 1, repeat from * across ending with sc in last sc (10 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 3: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next turquoise sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 2, sc in coral sc below it, sc in next turquoise sc from Row 2, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (31 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 4-6: With cream join in first sc, ch 1, sc in each sc across (17 sc). Fasten off cream. Turn.
ROW 7: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across (16 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 8: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * working over ch-1 from Row 7, sc in skipped sc from Row 6, ch 1, skip next sc, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (17 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 9: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next turquoise sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 8, sc in coral sc below it, sc in next turquoise sc from Row 8, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (31 sc). Fasten off coral.

YOKE BACK (Make 2)
Starting at bottom of sleeve yoke using coral, make foundation ch of 18.
ROW 1: Sc in second ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across (9 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 2: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc * working over ch 1 from first row, sc into skipped ch of foundation ch, ch 1, repeat from * across ending with sc in last sc (10 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 3: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next turquoise sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 2, sc in coral sc below it, sc in next turquoise sc from Row 2, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (17 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 4-6: With cream join in first sc, ch 1, sc in each sc across (17 sc). Fasten off cream. Turn.
ROW 7: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across (9 sc). Fasten off coral. Turn.
ROW 8: With turquoise join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, * working over ch-1 from Row 7, sc in first skipped sc from Row 6, skip next sc, ch 1, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (10 sc). Fasten off turquoise. Turn.
ROW 9: With coral join in first sc, ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next turquoise sc, * working over ch 1 from Row 8, sc in coral sc below it, sc in next turquoise sc from Row 8, repeat from * across ending sc in last sc (17 sc). Fasten off coral. Using tapestry needle work in all loose ends.

BODY OF DRESS
ROW 1: Working along bottom of back yoke join cream into 1st st, sc in 8 ch (do not work remaining 9 sts.) Without cutting thread continue to work along bottom of front yoke, skip first 9 sts of front yoke and sc in next 13 sts, (do not work remaining 9 sts of front.) Continue to work along bottom of remaining back yoke, skip first 9 sts, sc in remaining 8 sts (31 sc). Turn.
ROW 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across (31 sc). Turn.
ROW 3: 5 sc, sc dec in next 2 sts, 17 sc, sc dec in next 2 sts, (29 sts). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc in ea st across, ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: 4 sc, (sc dec in next 2 sts) 2x, 13 sc, (sc dec in next 2 sts) 2x, 4 sc, (25 sts). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 6-13: Sc in each sc across (25 scs). Ch 1, turn.
RND 14: Begin working in rounds. (Sc dec in next 2 sts) 2x, (sc 2x in next st) 2x, sc in ea st around. Sl st in beg ch 1 to join.
RNDS 15-25: Ch 1, sc in ea st around, join with a sl st in beg ch 1. Ch 1 and turn. Fasten off cream when rnd 25 is complete.

FINISHING
Finish off all loose ends of yarn by weaving behind stitches with tapestry needle. Sew undersides of sleeves. Sew top of each sleeve closed with a gap of 21/2 in. on front neck edge. Sew 2 sets of snap fasteners at back closing. With black thread, sew 1 black giant seed bead to the apex of each turquoise stitch across sleeves and yoke front of dress.

SKIRT FRINGE
Wrap coral yarn 29 times evenly around piece of cardboard 4 in. wide. Cut yarn along bottom of cardboard. You will have 25 pieces of yarn 4 in. long. Fold piece of yarn in half, insert hook into top of sc from Rnd 25 from wrong side, pull center of yarn through sc about 1/2 in. forming a loop keeping ends even, with hook catch 2 ends of yarn on other side of st and pull through loop, tighten to secure.
Working around bottom of dress, loop 1 length of yarn in each sc. Trim carefully with scissors to even up ends of fringe.

SLEEVE FRINGE
Work as for skirt fringe with 24 lengths of yarn for each sleeve.

PRINCESS' BELT
Cut one 15 in. piece of coral yarn. Cut one 15 in. piece of turquoise yarn. Holding yarns together, fold in half to mark center. Starting in the center, tie 5 knots, 1in. apart. Thread 5 black giant seed beads on each end of the coral yarn and knot. Thread 3 black giant seed beads on each end of the turquoise yarn and knot.

PRINCESS' HEADBAND
Leaving a 5 in. tail when you begin ch, using turquoise yarn, ch 30. leave 5 in. tail at end of chain. Pull end through last ch st. Using coral yarn, overstitch along one side of each chain st. With needle and black thread, sew on 27 black giant seed beads to center of each ch st. Tie headband around doll's head. Trim yarn ends as 2 in. long fringe.

MOCCASINS (Make 4)
Split 3 yds of cream, 1 yd of coral and 1 yd of turquoise worsted weight yarn into two strands each.
Starting at bottom of sole with split cream yarn and size F crochet hook ch 9.
RND 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 chs, 3 sc in last ch. Working around opposite side of starting ch, sc in next 6 chs, 2 sc in last ch, join to first sc. Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Working in front loops only, sc in joining sc and each rem sc around, join. Fasten off.
RND 3: Attach split coral yarn to last st worked, sc in each sc around, join. Fasten off.
RND 4: Attach split turquoise yarn to last st worked, sc in each sc around, join. Fasten off.
RND 5: Attach worsted weight cream yarn to last st worked, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, (sc dec in next 2 sts) 4x, sc in next 6 sts, join in beg sc. Fasten off. Work in all loose ends of yarn with tapestry needle.
Cut 2 pieces 6 in. length of coral yarn. Thread one piece through center front stitches of each moccasin and tie in a bow. Trim ends.
