Bodice

First Bustle Ruffle: With right side and neck edge of dress facing you, join off-white with a sl st in 3rd lp to right of back opening at waist (lp left unworked in Rnd 18), ch 3.
ROW 1: Work (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same lp as joining, work ( 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each of next 2 lps. Continuing with same yarn, sk to other side of opening, work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each of next 3 lps, leave rem 14 lps unworked for front overskirt (6 shells). Do not ch, turn.

Third Bustle Ruffle: With right side and neck edge of dress facing you, join off-white with a sl st in first unworked lp to your right in Skirt Rnd 29, ch 3.

Fourth Bustle Ruffle: With right side and neck edge of dress facing you, join off-white with a sl st in first unworked lp to your right in Skirt Rnd 35, ch 3.
ROW 1: Work (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same lp as joining, * sk next 2 lps, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next lp; rep from * 17 times more, sk next lp, sk ch-2 where rnd was joined and next lp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next lp, ** sk next 2 lps, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next lp; rep from ** 17 times more (38 shells). Do not ch, turn.
ROWS 2-3: Rep Rows 2-3 of First Bustle Ruffle.

Neck Edging
With right side facing, join off-white with a sl st in first st at left back neck edge, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * ch 2, sc in next st; rep from * around neck edge (15 sc, 14 ch-2 sps). Finish off and weave in ends.

Jabot
With right side and bottom edge of dress facing you, join off-white with a sl st in first unworked lp to your right in Rnd 4 at center front of bodice (insert hook from underneath and up toward neck of dress), ch 3.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Work 2 dc in same lp as joining, ch 2, 3 dc in next lp. Do not ch, turn.
ROW 2: Sl st to ch-2 sp, ch 3, 8 dc in same sp. Finish off and weave in ends.

Sleeves (make 2)
With right side facing you, join lilac with a sl st in 3rd ch at underarm, ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same ch as joining and next ch, 2 sc in each of 10 sc around top of armhole opening, sc in last 2 chs at underarm, join with a sl st in beg sc (24 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 2-8: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (as before) (24 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 9: Dec over same sc as joining and next sc (as in Bodice Row 11), * dec over next 2 sc; rep from * around, join (12 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.

Front Overskirt
With right side and neck edge of dress facing you, join off-white with a sl st in first unworked lp to your right in Rnd 18 at waist (next to first bustle ruffle), ch 5.

ROW 2: Sl st to first ch-2 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp (for first shell), * work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp (for shell); rep from * 11 times more, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in turning ch-5 sp (for last shell) (14 shells). Do not ch, turn.

Dress Finishing
STEP 1: Sew 4 sets hooks and eyes to back bodice opening: one set at neck just below neck edging, one set at waist, 2 sets evenly spaced between.
STEP 2: Cut a 5-1/2" (14cm) piece of 1/8" (3mm) black satin ribbon and place around dress neck below neck edging. Turn ends under at center back and tack in place. Glue pearl to center front of ribbon. Dress doll; set aside.

Petticoat
Starting at waist edge of petticoat with white, ch 25.
ROW 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (24 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROW 2: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * across (36 sc). Do not ch, turn.
ROWS 3-7: Sc in each sc across (36 sc). Do not ch, turn. At end of Row 7, do not turn, join with sl st in beg sc (to close back opening), ch 1.
(Note: From now on, you will be working in rnds instead of back and forth in rows.)
RND 8: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (as before) (36 sc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 9: Dc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 (36 dc - not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 10: Work 2 dc in each dc around, join (72 dc - not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 11-14: Dc in each dc around, join (as before) (72 dc). Ch 3, do not turn. At end of Rnd 14, ch 1 (in place of ch 3), do not turn.
RND 15: Sc in each dc around, join with a sl st in beg sc (72 sc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 16: Work 2 dc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 (144 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 17-21: Dc in each dc around, join (as before) (144 dc). Ch 3, do not turn. At end of Rnd 21, ch 1 (in place of ch 3), do not turn.
RND 22: Sc in each dc around, join with a sl st in beg sc (144 sc). Ch 4, do not turn.

RND 23 - Petticoat Bottom Ruffle: * Work 3 trc in same sc as joining, 2 trc in next sc; rep from * around, join with sl st in top of beg ch-4 (360 trc - not counting beg ch-4). Ch 4, do not turn.
RND 24: Trc in next trc and each rem trc around, join (as before) (360 trc - not counting beg ch-4). Cut white, join off-white. Continuing with off-white, ch 1, do not turn.
RND 25: Sc in next trc, * ch 3, sk next trc, sc in next trc; rep from * around to last trc, ch 3, sk last trc, join with a sl st in beg ch-3 lp. Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 26: Sc in same lp as joining, * ch 3, sc in next ch-3 lp; rep from * around, ch 3, join with a sl st in beg sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Waist Edging and Ties: With white, ch 25 (for one tie), continuing with same yarn, sl st in each ch around waist edge of petticoat, then ch 25 more (for other tie). Finish off, knot ends securely and trim close. Slip petticoat onto doll under dress and tie waist ties into a bow at center back.

Hat
Starting at top center with lilac, ch 3.
RND 1 (right side): Work 10 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-2 (10 hdc - not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 hdc in each hdc around, join (as before) (20 hdc - not counting beg ch-2). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 3: * Hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (30 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 4: * Hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (40 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 5: * Hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (50 hdc). Ch 2, do not turn.
RND 6: * Hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; rep from * around, join (60 hdc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 7: * Dec over next 2 hdc (to dec, draw up a lp in next 2 hdc - 3 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook); rep from * around, join with a sl st in beg sc (30 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 8: Sc in same st as joining and each rem sc around, join with a sl st in beg sc (30 sc). Cut lilac, join off-white. Continuing with off-white, ch 3, do not turn.

RND 9 - Hat Ruffle: Work (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st as joining, * sk next 2 sc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next sc; rep from * around to last 2 sc, sk last 2 sc, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 (10 shells). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 10: Sl st to ch-2 sp of first shell, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp, * work (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in ch-2 sp of next shell; rep from * around, join (as before). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 11: Sl st to ch-2 sp of first shell, ch 3, 8 dc in same sp, * work 9 dc in ch-2 sp of next shell; rep from * around, join. Finish off and weave in ends.

Hat Finishing
STEP 1: Hot glue spray of flowers across front of hat at top of ruffle.
STEP 2: Cut 45" (114cm) of 1/4" rose satin picot ribbon. Form into eight 4-1/2" (11,4cm) lps. Gather center of lps and secure with small piece of ribbon or string forming a bow with four 2-1/4" (5,7cm) lps on each side of center. Trim ribbon ends on an angle even with ends of bow lps. Separate lps. Glue center of bow to hat at top of ruffle, covering flower stem.
STEP 3: Place hat on doll's head with flowers to the front.

Purse
Starting at center with lilac, ch 2.
RND 1 (right side): Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with a sl st in beg sc (6 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 2: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (as before) (12 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: * Sc in same sc as joining, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 4-9: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (18 sc). Ch 1, do not turn. At end of Rnd 9, cut lilac, join off-white. Continuing with off-white, ch 3, do not turn.

RND 10 - Purse Ruffle: Work 2 dc in same sc as joining, * sk next sc, 3 dc in next sc; rep from * around to last sc, sk last sc, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3. Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 11: Sc in same ch as joining, * ch 2, sc in next dc; rep from * around, ch 2, join with a sl st in beg sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Purse Handle
With off-white, leave 6" (15cm) end for sewing handle to purse, ch 25. Finish off, leaving a 12" (30cm) sewing end. Sew 6" end at beg of ch to Rnd 9 (just below dc rnd) on inside of purse. Sew 12" end to opposite side in same rnd on inside of purse, then continue with same sewing length and weave yarn in and out of sc of Rnd 9. Stuff purse with small amount of fiberfill, pull yarn tightly to close opening and fasten securely.

Purse Finishing
Tie remaining 9" (22cm) ribbon into a 1-1/2" (4cm) bow. Trim ends even with bow. Glue bow to side of purse just below top ruffle. Slip handle of purse over doll's hand.
