15-in. Classic Doll (#3193)
Knitting Worsted Weight Yarn:
12 oz. White Sport weight 3 ply yarn
370 4mm Simulated white pearl beads
4 sets Silver hooks and eyes
Needle and white thread

Crochet Hook:
Size G or size required for gauge
Gauge:
With size G hook,
9 sc = 2 in., 9 rows/rnds = 2 in.
8 dc = 2 in., 4 rnds = 2 in.

Special Stitch: js (jump stitch)
Draw up a lp in next st of previous row, below the row you are working – 2 lps now on hook, yo and draw through both lps on hook. Do not work the in current row behind js. This will create the zigzag pattern on dress

DRESS BODICE:
Note: For smoother back opening edge, do not ch 1 at end of Bodice Rows 1-11


Starting at neck edge and size G hook (or size required for gauge) ch 31.
ROW 1: (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (30 sc). Turn
ROW 2: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (40 sc). Turn.
ROW 3: Sc in each sc across (40 sc). Turn.
ROW 4: *Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (50 sc). Turn.
ROW 5: (Armhole shaping): Sc first 6 sc, ch 3, sk next 11 sc (for right armhole – fold skipped sts toward you), sc in next 16 sc, ch 3, sk next 11 sc (for left armhole – fold skipped sts toward you), sc in last 6 sc (28 sc). Turn.
ROW 6: Sc in each sc and ch across (34 sc). Turn.
ROW 7: Sc in first 8 sc, *dec over next 2 sc (to dec: draw up a lp in next 2 sts – 3 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook); rep from * 3 times more, sc in next 2 sc, (dec over next 2 sc) 4 times, sc in last 8 sc (26 sc). Turn.
ROW 8: Sc in each sc across (26 sc). Turn.
ROW 9: Sc in first 4 sc; * dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc; rep from * once more, dec over next 2 sc, sc in last 4 sc (23 sc). Turn.
ROW 10: Sc in each sc across (23 sc). Turn.
ROW 11: Sc in first 4 sc, * dec over next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc; rep from * once more, dec over next 2 sc, sc in last 3 sc (20 sc). Turn.
ROW 12: Sc in each sc across (20 sc). Ch 3, turn.


SKIRT:
ROW 13: Work 2 dc in each sc across, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3 (to close back opening) (40 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
(NOTE: You will now be working in rnds instead of rows. When joining rnds, join with sl st)
RND 14: * Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join to top of beg ch-3 (60 dc-not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 15: *Dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join (80 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 16: Working in back lp of sts only, sc in each dc around, join to first sc (80 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 17: Working in back lp of sts only, sc in same sc as joining and next 6 sc, * js in next dc, sc in next 7 sc; rep from * around to last sc, js in last dc, join to first sc (80 sts). Ch 1, do not turn.

RND 21: Working in back lp of sts only, sc in same sc as joining and next 2 sts, *js in next sc, sc in next 7 sts; rep from * around to last 5 sts, js in next sc, sc in last 4 sts, join (80 sts). Ch 3 – do not turn.
RND 22: Working in back lp of sts only, 2 dc in same sc as joining and each rem st around, join to top of beg ch-3 (160 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn
RNDS 23-24: Dc in each dc around, join (160 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 25–30: Rep Rnds 16-21 (160 sts).
RND 31: Working in back lp of sts only, dc in same sc as joining, * 2 dc in next st, dc in next st; rep from * around to last sc, 2 dc in last sc, join to top of beg ch-3 (240 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 32-33: Dc in each dc around, join (240 dc). Ch 3, do not turn. *At end of Rnd 33, ch 1 (in place of ch 3), do not turn*
RNDS 34-39: Rep Rnds 16-21 (240 sts). *At end of Rnd 39 do not ch. Finish off, weave in all ends.
Skirt Trim: With needle and thread, sew one pearl to the top of each js (jump stitch) around skirt

NECK TRIM:
With right side of bodice facing you, join with sl st to first ch at left back neck edge, do not ch. Sk joining ch, sl st in each rem ch across neck edge (30 sl sts). Finish off, weave in all ends. With needle and thread, sew a row of pearls along neck edge.


ARMHOLE TRIM: (make 2)
With right side and skirt bottom facing you, join to 2nd ch (center) at underarm, ch 1. Sc in same ch as joining and next ch, sc in 11 unworked sc from Bodice Row 5 around top of armhole, sc in last ch at underarm, join to first sc (14 sc). Finish off, weave in all ends.
Sew a row of pearls along sleeve edge.


Panties w/Attached Slip


PANTIES:
Starting at waist edge and size G hook ch 25.
ROW 1: (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (24 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across (36 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 3-4: Sc in each sc across (36 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 5: Sc in each sc across, join with sl st to first sc (to close back opening) (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
(Note: You will now be working in rnds instead of rows.)
RND 6: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps will be used for attachι slip), sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 7-8: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn. * At end of rnd 8, ch 4 (in place of ch 1 – for crotch), do not turn.
Left Leg
Rnd 9: Sk same sc as joining and next 17 sc, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in next sc, sc in next 17 sc, sc in 4 chs across crotch, join to back lp only of first sc (22 sc). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 10: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only (front lps rem unworked), sk joining sc, sl st in each rem sc around, join to first sl st. Finish off, weave in ends.
Right Leg
With right side and back waist edge of panties facing you, rejoin yarn to first unworked sc from Left Leg Rnd 9 (next to Left Leg), ch 1.
RND 1: Sc in same sc as joining and next 17 sc, sc in 4 chs across crotch, join to back lp only of first sc (22 sc). Do not ch, do not turn.
RND 2: Rep Left Leg Rnd 10.


SLIP:
With back waist edge of panties facing you, rejoin yarn to first unworked lp from panties Rnd 6 at back seam, (this was where you worked in back lp only) ch 3.
RND 1: Dc in same lp as joining, * 2 dc in next lp, dc in next lp; rep from * around to last lp, 2 dc in last lp, join to top of beg ch-3 (54 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 2-3: Dc in each dc around, join (54 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 4: * Dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join (72 dc – not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 5-6: Dc in each dc around, join (72 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 7: * Dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * around, join (90-not counting beg ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 8-9: Dc in each dc around, join (90 dc). Ch 3, do not turn.

Waist Ties
Ch 25 (for one tie), do not finish off. Continuing with same yarn, sl st in each ch across panties waist edge, ch 25 (for other tie). Finish off, weave in ends. Place panties with attached slip on doll under dress and tie at center back waist.
