Unforgettable sunset in Oia

Oia is the most northerly and probably the most romantic village in Cyclades. The old mill, narrow streets, stairs and dead ends, domes, arches and tiny hotels are at every step here. As well as excellent hotels and lodges for honeymooners.

Our road lies to the pearl of the island to Oia. We’ll visit the village of Firostefani along the way. It is a wonderful, quiet location with a unique view of the caldera and on Imirovigli. Here we can make great photos on the memory. After not a great walking we continue our journey. Oia is located at the northernmost point of the island. It was completely destroyed after the earthquake in 1956.

The village has been restored as an architectural monument with the help of the Greek Tourism Organization and Oia society. The picturesque buildings and streets of Oia intricately combine two types of island architecture: houses dug into the soft rock of the caldera, and the captain's mansions. The most wonderful time here is sunset time. Just imagine how bizarre mosaic of houses dug into the cliffs of the caldera, it escapes to the sea and is painted in unique colors.
