Petticoat
Starting at waist edge, with royal blue and size G hook (or size
required for gauge), ch 20.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (19
sc). Ch 1, turn.
Note: On each following row/rnd of petticoat only, work in front lp (lp
toward you) of each sc, except when joining rnds.
ROW 2: Sc in first sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from *
across (28 sc). Use a small safety pin or piece of contrasting yarn and
mark front lp of 11th sc of row just completed (for working apron
later). Ch 1, turn.

Pantaloons
Hold petticoat with wrong side and waist edge facing you. Use size G
hook and join white with a sl st in marked lp at beg of Rnd 5 of
petticoat (remove marker).
ROW 1 (wrong side): Ch 1, sc, in same lp as joining and each rem
unworked lp across (36 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (36 sc), JOIN with a sl st in beg sc. (Note:
From now on, you will be working in rnds instead of back and forth in
rows.) Ch 3 (do not count as a de), DO NOT turn.
RND 3: De in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join with a sl
st in top of beg ch-3 (36 dc - not counting ch-3). Ch 3, do not turn.
RND 4: De in next 18 de, mark last de just worked, de in rem 18 de
around, join (as before) - 36 dc. Do not ch 3 and do not turn. Divide
work in half for leg openings by working a sl st tightly into marked de
(insert hook in top of de from wrong to right side). Remove marker. Ch
3, do not turn.
Right Leg
RND 5: Dc in next 17 dc, dc in next dc (where sl st was worked), leave
rem 18 dc unworked (for working left leg later), join (18 dc). Ch 3, do
not turn.
RNDS 6-13: Dc in each dc around, join (18 dc). Ch 3, do not turn. At end
of Rnd 13, ch 1 (in place of ch 3), do not turn.
RND 14: * Sc in next dc, dec over next 2 dc (to dec, draw up a lp in
each of next 2 dc - 3 lps now on hook, yo and draw through all 3 lps on
hook: dec made); rep from * around, join with a sl st in beg sc (12 sc).

Left Leg
With right side and left leg opening of pantaloons facing you, use size
G hook and rejoin white with a sl st in st at crotch.
RND 1: Ch 3, dc in 18 dc around leg opening, join with a sl st in top of
beg ch-3. Ch 3, do not turn.
RNDS 2-12: Rep Rnds 6-16 of Right Leg. Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing
Cut two pieces of ribbon, each 10 in. long. Weave one ribbon through sts
of Rnd 14 of each pantaloon leg. Tie bow.
Apron
Hold petticoat with right side and waist edge facing you. Use size G
hook and join white with a sl st in marked lp of Row 2 at center front
of petticoat (remove marker).
ROW 1 (right side): Ch 1, sc in same lp as joining and next 5 lps across
center front of petticoat (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across (6 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc (8
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 4-8: Sc in each sc across (8 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 9-26: Rep Rows 3-8, 3 times more. At end of Row 26, you should have
14 sc.
ROW 27: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc (16
sc). Do not ch 1 and do not turn. Work edging as follows:
Edging: Change to size F hook. Sc in next row and each rem row up left
side edge of apron to top edge, ch 1; now hold yarn underneath apron and
work a sl st in each of 6 royal blue lps of petticoat (where first row
of apron was worked); ch 1, sc in each row down right side edge of apron
to last row, sk last row, work sl st in each of 16 sc across bottom edge
of apron, join with a sl st in beg sc. Finish off and weave in ends. Set
petticoat with attached pantaloons and apron aside until later.
Dress
Right Skirt (worked sideways)
Starting at front edge, with size G hook and red, ch 36.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 1, sk next ch, sc in
next ch; rep from * across (17 ch-1 sps). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in first sc, * ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next sc; rep from
* across (1 7 ch-1 sps). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in first sc, * ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next sc; rep from
* across to last ch-1 sp, sl st in next ch, leave last sc unworked (1 6
ch-1 sps). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: Sk first sl st, sc in next sc, * ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in

48, do not ch 1 and do not turn. Continue with same yarn and work edging
as follows:
Edging: Change to size F hook. *Dec over next 3 sts at waist edge,
repeat from * 6 more times, dec over next 2 sts. Mark last st made (for
joining skirt to bodice later), dec over next 2 sts. Sl st in each ch
down front edge to bottom edge, ch 1. Sc in each st across bottom edge
to last row, sk last st. Sl st in next marked st (remove markers).
Finish off. Set skirt aside.
Bodice
Starting at center front point at waist, with size G hook and red, leave
12" sewing length, ch 2.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook (1 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Work 3 sc in sc (3 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc (5 sc).
Finish off. Set piece aside until needed in next row.
Note: Next row is worked onto waist edge of petticoat.
ROW 4 (joining row - right side): Pick up petticoat and hold R with
right side and waist edge facing you. Use size G hook and join red with
a sl st in first ch at left back waist edge, ch 1, sc in same ch as
joining and next 6 chs. Pick up first 3 rows of bodice and hold it in
front of petticoat with wrong side of sts of last row (Row 3) facing
you; carefully match
5 sc on red piece with next 5 sc on petticoat. Continuing with same yam,
work 2 sc in next matched sc (of both pieces), sc in next 3 matched sc,
2 sc in last matched sc (red piece now joined). Continuing with same
yarn, sc in rem 7 chs at waist edge of petticoat (21 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Note: Skirt pieces are joined to bodice in next row.
ROW 5 (joining row): Pick up right skirt and place it behind bodice with
wrong side of skirt facing bodice and waist edge of skirt across top;
carefully match first 7 sc of bodice with marked sc and next 6 sc at
waist edge of skirt. Continuing with same yarn and working through both
lps of sts on bodice and through front lp only of sts on skirt, sc in 7
matched sts of both pieces (right skirt now joined - remove marker).
Continuing with same yarn, sc in next 7 sc at center front of bodice.
Pick up left skirt and place it behind petticoat in same manner as right
skirt; carefully match next 7 sc of bodice with marked sc and next 6 sc
at waist edge of skirt. Continuing with same yarn and working through
sts of both pieces as before, sc in 7 matched sts of both pieces (left
skirt now joined - remove marker) - 21 sc. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 6: Sc in each sc across (21 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 7: Sc in first 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next
sc, sc in last 8 sc (23 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 8: Sc in each sc across (23 sc). Ch 1, turn.

Right Back Shaping
With size G hook, rejoin red with a sl st in 2nd sc from front shaping.
ROW 1: Ch 1, dec over same sc as joining and next sc, sc in last 4 sc (5
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 2-7: Sc in each sc across (5 sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 8: Dec over first 2 sc, sc in last 3 sc (4 sc). Ch 1 turn.
ROW 9: Sl st in first sc (at armhole edge), sc in next sc, dec over last
2 sc (at back neck edge) - 3 sts. Finish off, leaving 8 in. sewing
length. Sew shoulder seams.
Sleeves (make 2)
Starting at top edge, with size G hook and red, leave 18" sewing length,
ch 5.

RND 9: Working in back lp of sts for this rnd only, 2 sc in next sc, sc
in next 12 sc, 2 sc in last sc (note: last 2 sc are worked in same sc
with joining sl st), join (in both lps of beg sc - as before) - 16 sc.

Undersleeves (make 2)
Fold back last 2 rnds at bottom edge of sleeve to expose lps left
unworked in Rnd 9. With size G hook, join white with a
sl st in first lp left unworked (next to joining).
RND 1: Ch 1, sc in same lp as joining and each rem unworked lp around,
join with a sl st in beg sc (14 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
Note: On next 5 rnds of undersleeve (Rnds 2-6), work In back lp only of
each sc, except when joining rnds.
RND 2: Sc in same sc as joining, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep
from * around to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join (in both lps of beg sc -
as before) - 21 sc. Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: Sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (21 sc). Ch
1, do not turn.
RND 4: Sk same sc as joining, * dec over next 2 sc; rep from around,
join (10 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 5: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join (20
sc). Cut white, join royal blue. Continuing with royal blue, ch 1, do
not turn.
RND 6: Sl st in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join with a
sl st in beg sl st. Finish off and weave in ends. Set sleeves aside.
Neck Edging
With right side and neck edge of bodice facing you, use size G hook and
join while with a sl st in first st at left back neck edge, ch 1, sc in
same st, sc in next 8 rows around to center front neck edge, sc in next
7 sc across center front neck edge, sc in next 8 rows around to st at
right back neck edge, sc in last st (25 sc). Finish off.
Left Collar and Tie
With while and size G hook, ch 25.
ROW 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (24 sc). Ch 1,
turn.
Note: At beg of next row, collar is joined to neck edge of bodice.
ROW 2: Hold work (collar) in front of left back neck edge of bodice;
carefully match first 13 sc of collar with first 13 sc of neck edging on
bodice. Working in back lp only of sts on both pieces, continue with
same yarn and work sc in 13 matched sc (collar now joined to bodice).
Continuing with same yarn and working in back lp only of sts on collar
and tie, work 2 sc in next sc, sl st in last 10 sc (for tie). Ch 1, do
not turn; sl st in each of 24 chs across foundation ch edge, sl st in
back lp of first sc at opposite edge. Finish off and weave in ends.
Right Collar and Tie
With white and size G hook, ch 25.
ROW 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch across (24
sc). Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Working in back lp only of sts, sl st in first 10 sc (for tie), 2
sc in next sc, now join collar to neck edge of bodice as follows:
carefully match next 13 sc of collar with center front sc of neck edging
on bodice (same sc where last sc joining left collar to bodice was
worked) and next 12 sc. Continuing with same yarn and working in back lp
only of sts on both pieces, sc in 13 matched sc (collar now joined to
bodice). Do not finish off. Ch 1, do not turn; sl st in each of 24 chs
across foundation ch edge of collar and tie, join with a sl st in back
lp of first sl st at opposite edge. Finish off and weave in ends.
Back Edging: With inside of bodice facing you, use size F hook and join
red with a sl st in first red row at left back neck edge.
ROW 1: Ch 1, sc in same row as joining and next 14 rows down left back
edge; sc in next row changing to royal blue as follows: draw up a lp in
next sc, cut red, join royal blue and complete st as a sc (colors
changed); continue with royal blue and work 8 sc evenly spaced down left
side of petticoat to base of opening, sl st in st at base; work 8 sc up
right side of petticoat, changing to red in last sc; continue with red
and work sc in next 16 rows up right back edge. Ch 3 tightly (for first
button lp), turn.
ROW 2: Sk first sc, sl st in next sc, * ch 2 tightly (for button lp), sk
next sc, sl st in next sc; rep from * 6 times more, ch 2 (for button lp),
sk next sc (first blue sc), sl st in next sc (9 button lps total).
Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing
Step 1: Position sleeves into armholes with center top of sleeves at
shoulder seams. Carefully weave edges tog (do not overlap).
Step 2: Sew sc at bottom point of center front V-shaping at waist of
bodice to center sc of first row on apron, then sew side edges of
V-shaping to petticoat. Sew 3 sc at front waist edge of each skirt
through back lp only to side edges of V-shaping of bodice, leaving sc at
bottom point free.
Step 3: With sewing needle and matching thread, sew 9 white facet beads
down left back edging to correspond with button lps on right back
edging.
Step 4: Cut 2 pieces of ribbon, each 15 in. long. Starting at center top
of undersleeve, weave one ribbon through sts of Rnd 4 (2nd white rnd
above blue edging) of each undersleeve. Leave ends loose for now.
Step 5: Remove doll's shoes. Slip dress with attached pantaloons,
petticoat and apron onto doll and button bodice at back. Shape bustle.
Replace doll's shoes.
Step 6: Pull ribbon on each undersleeve up tightly and tie ends into a
1-in. bow. Trim ends on an angle about 1/2 in. from center of bow.
Step 7: Cut 10" piece of ribbon. With right tie crossing over left tie
just below center front of collar, place ribbon around both ties and tie
into an 1-1/4-in. bow at front. Trim ends on an angle about 1/2 in. from
center of bow. Tack joined ties to bodice just below collar.
Step 8: Glue (do not use hot glue) or sew 4 gold stars evenly spaced

Step 9: For necklace, thread 24" strand of white thread into sewing
needle. Using 2 strands, string 24 pearls onto thread. Place pearls
around doll's neck and knot ends of thread securely. Trim ends 1/4 in.

Bonnet
Starting at center top, with white and size G hook, ch 2.
RND 1 (right side): Work 8 sc under top 2 strands of 2nd ch from hook,
join with a sl st in back lp of beg sc (8 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
Note: On each following rnd of bonnet, work in back lp only of each sc.
RND 2: Work 2 sc in same sc as joining and each rem sc around, join with
a sl st in beg ch-1 (16 sc - not counting ch-1). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 3: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around, join (in beg
ch-1 - as before) - 24 sc. Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 4: * Work 2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 2 sc; rep from *
around, join (32 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 5: * Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around, join (40
sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 6: Sc in next sc, * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from *
around to last 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, join (48 sc). Ch
1, do not turn.
RNDS 7-10: Sc in each sc around, join (48 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 11: * Sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc; rep from around, join (36
sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RNDS 12-13: Sc in each sc around, join (36 sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
Ruffled Brim
RND 14: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around, join (48
sc). Ch 1, do not turn.
RND 15: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join (96 sc). Cut white, join royal
blue. Continuing with royal blue, ch 1, do not turn.
RND 16: Sc in each sc around, join (96 sc). Finish off and weave in
ends.
Finishing
Step 1: With rem 24-in. length of ribbon, glue or sew center of ribbon
to center back of bonnet (where rnds were joined) just above ruffled
brim. Bring ends of ribbon around to center front of bonnet and tie into
a 2-3/4-in. bow. Trim ends on an angle about 1 1/4 in. from center of
bow.
Step 2: Glue 3 gold stars evenly spaced to center front of bonnet about
one rnd above bow. Put bonnet on doll's head.
